Sure, a little white lie here and there might make us a couple of extra bucks in sales, but it doesn’t do very well for our company reputation and the relationships we hope to form with returning customers. That’s why we always get better results by just being honest and telling the truth.

Due to some misconceptions, the HVAC industry is littered with little lies which can make it increasingly difficult for customers to do the right thing for their homes and budgets. We’re going to change this one correction at a time, starting today with three misconceptions that homeowners might think or act upon that might not be entirely true.

Then, when you’ve got a clearer picture of how your system really works and what you should do, you can call us for expert furnace service in Modesto, CA whenever it’s necessary.

They’re Dangerous

Gas furnaces are known for burning fuel and turning it into heat. This can seem like a dangerous process at first glance, but we wouldn’t be installing these systems in homes and buildings if they weren’t abundantly safe.

Take your car, for instance. It burns gasoline to drive you places, and the most dangerous thing about them is the possible accidents caused by other drivers and animals on the road, not the engine itself. Combustion engines, just like combustion furnaces, are inherently safe and are designed with many safety mechanisms in place.

However, neglect can quickly cause your furnace to become unsafe, so make sure you get it maintained on a yearly basis and repaired when something goes wrong.

Furnaces Aren’t Efficient

Efficiency is one of the most important reasons why someone might invest in a new heating system. Sure, heat pumps and ductless mini splits are getting all the attention right now for their extreme efficiency and quality 2-in-1 technology, but don’t count out a gas furnace.

Natural gas is easy to cleanly burn in a home and produce heat. Wood, oil, and other materials that we associate with furnaces aren’t very efficient–but gas is.

In a gas furnace with an AFUE rating of 90+, at least 90% of the gas being burned is turned into usable heat that your family can actually feel. And, since gas is produced locally by your municipality, it’s affordable and the prices are stable. These facts make gas furnaces an efficient option for any home.

Gas Furnaces Are Better Than Electric Furnaces

While gas furnaces are great for many homeowners in our area, they’re not perfect. Many customers just don’t have access to natural gas and thus can’t get the most out of a gas furnace. In this case, most homes (even the ones without natural gas access) have access to electricity, and that’s where an electric furnace shines.

Electric furnaces are also widely more affordable to install and they work great for small homes or homes that are more off the grid. Neither system is better than the other, they’re just different!

Schedule an appointment with DeHart Plumbing, Heating, and Air Inc. for help with your furnace, and to learn the truth about this technology.

We’re going to change this one correction at a time, starting today with three misconceptions that homeowners might think or act upon that might not be entirely true.

[76
175,88
post-1253","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-heating-service","tag-furnace-service","tag-modesto
["GET
